You Got Questions, I’ve Got Answers
Whether you want to know about my wide variety of lessons and activities, or are interested in my teaching experience and methods, I’ve compiled a series of questions that clients often ask me. Perhaps you’ll have the same question that somebody else had. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
What happens during each lesson?
Our driving instructors are trained to teach you theory and practical, ensuring that you receive the best tuition possible. At the end of each driving lesson you and your driving instructor will recap what you learnt and set an objective of what you will learn during the next lesson as this will help you maintain a steady progress.
How long are the lessons?
Usually lessons are 2 hours long, this way you are more likely to make quicker progress by putting your experiences into practice and therefore passing your test in very little time, saving you a lot of money.
How many driving lessons do IÂ need?
If you are a beginner, and have never driven a car before, research from the DVSA (Driving Standards Agency) has shown that on average a minimum of 45 hours tuition with a driving instructor is required to pass your practical test. However, this is only an average. Everyone is different in how quickly they progress. So you may need less or you may need more. After the first couple of lessons, the instructor will give you their professional opinion as to how many driving lessons you will need in order to pass your practical driving test.
What is pass plus?
Pass Plus is a widely recognised scheme that is open to newly qualified drivers. Statistics have shown that newly qualified drivers are more vulnerable than experienced drivers. Pass Plus offers professional instruction, helping new drivers to gain quality experience, become more skilful drivers, develop a positive driving style and reduce their risk of being involved in an accident. Additionally many motor insurance companies offer greatly reduced insurance policies to new drivers who have completed the Pass Plus scheme. All of our Approved Driving Instructors at DrivethruL are registered to offer Pass Plus tuition for those candidates that have successfully passed the practical driving test. There is no exam at the end of the Pass Plus course. The pupil undertakes six modules, each containing a range of relevant topics. When the pupil has attained or exceeded a satisfactory level in each topic of all modules, he/she will have completed the course.
The six modules are:
