● The pupil should be aware that all driving instructors at Nathan James Driving Academy are franchisees of
the company.
● Nathan James Driving Academy takes NO responsibility for any payments made directly to the instructor for
any service as these monies are to be paid to Nathan James Driving Academy.
● The pupil certifies that a valid, suitable licence is held to drive the tuition vehicle. Pupils MUST inform their
instructor immediately if they receive any endorsements on their licence during the period that they are
receiving tuition.
● The instructor reserves the right to rearrange lessons at short notice. In the event of a health reasons,
mechanical breakdown or any other difficulty outside the control of the instructor.
● If an instructor is waiting 15 minutes after the scheduled tuition time at the agreed pick-up point, they are
entitled to cancel the lesson and will still be paid the full tuition fee. We ask for continuous commitment and
punctuality to get the best out of our pupils and enable them to pass with us. We will not tolerate time
wasters.
● Lessons are booked in for a two-hour period. If for any reason, outside of the instructors control it is not
possible to complete the full time, it will be added on to a later lesson. It is the pupils RESPONSILBITY to ensure
that this is rebooked at a convenient time for both the pupil and instructor.
● The price paid when booking your “practical driving test” DOES NOT INCLUDE the use of the instructor’s car
for the purpose of the test. The cost for the use of the instructor’s car is £120.00 AFTER 9am Monday to Friday
and £150.00 Before 9am Monday to Friday AND anytime on a Saturday. The fee to use the instructor’s car is
payable on the day of the test. This includes all relevant insurances required for the use of the vehicle, fuel,
pick up and drop off after and a 1-hour lesson before the pupil’s test.
● The instructor has the right to refuse to take a pupil on their test if they do not appear ready. Taking a pupil
on their test when they are not ready can result in serious consequences under DVSA recommendations.
● Nathan James Driving Academy reserves the right to change any prices or fees with one month’s notice. Ask
your instructor for more information regarding prices and offers.
● If you book a block booking of lessons, please note that if you make the decision to cancel or stop lessons
with your instructor during the block booking, WE WILL NOT REFUND any remaining lessons. As other lessons
could have potentially been booked by other pupils.
● Pupils must ALWAYS pay for lessons in advance. This secures your lessons and therefore the instructor
cannot book anyone else in at that date/time. It also means the instructor does not miss out on payment if the
pupil must cancel or cannot attend the lesson.
● If you are not in credit prior to your next lesson, the instructor HAS THE RIGHT to not arrive at the time and
day arranged, and your slot will be replaced by an alternative pupil. We will NOT chase you.
● If you are travelling by public transport to meet the instructor at an agreed location IT IS YOUR
RESPOSIBILITY to be on time. The instructor will wait up to 15 minutes for late arrivals. Transport
delays/diversions and cancellations are not the instructor’s responsibility. This will result in losing the full fee
of your lesson.
● 48-hour prior notice must be given by the pupil should they need to cancel a lesson. If the notice is not
given, the instructor will not refund or reschedule the lesson that was booked.
● The instructor will endeavour to teach the pupil the correct driving skills in line with the recommended
syllabus issued by the DVSA within the minimum number of lessons.
● Driving tests should only be booked with the prior agreement of both the pupil and the instructor.
● The instructor will accept no liability of any accidents, injuries or damage to any third party caused by a
pupil’s recklessness or negligence during a lesson.
● The instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of the car for the driving test with good reason.
● Please wear appropriate footwear.
● If you are required to wear glasses, please bring them with you. You must be able to read a vehicle
registration plate from a 20-metre distance before your allowed to drive
● The government advise that a MINIMUM of 40 hours training is required with a registered driving instructor
to understand and gain the knowledge in safe driving.
● The pupil should be aware that the instructor’s primary objective is to promote road safety and in doing so,
may take control of the vehicle if necessary. The instructor will make every effort to instruct the pupil to the
highest standard but can in no way be held liable for any errors that the pupil may make whilst driving before
and after a test pass.
● For any reason you disagree with any terms and conditions mentioned above and not happy to sign upon booking,
the instructors have the right to withdraw from any lessons you have booked with Nathan James Driving Academy.
